After the first week of school, we added some creepy crawly creatures, CATERPILLARS, to our class! It has been fun watching them as they make their chrysalises. We have one butterfly so far and hopefully more will be coming soon from the other 6 chrysalises.
We also kicked off our Tree Study earlier this week! We got to go outside and look at different trees in our community! A big thanks to everyone who has brought in tree parts for the class to investigate.
We were so fascinated that a mushroom was growing inside this hole in the tree. They insisted we take a picture!
Guest speakers are always a hit in the preschool room. We had our first guest of the year, Carol who just happens to be my aunt! She came in and shared some fabric pieces with us. She talked to the kiddos about how some fabric is very soft while other kinds of fabric can be bumpy. The kiddos explore different kinds of fabric and used different words to describe them. They also had the choice of doing a craft with Carol during center time. The kiddos could choose to make a picture with the fabric squares. She modeled how she made caterpillars, trees, and butterflies. Most of the kiddos worked hard on making these!
